Many years ago, my friend Fotno would take the local news weather person literally when they said, “Today’s weather brought to you by…”, thereby laying the blame for the rain or storm or whatever at the feet of the segment sponsor. Originally, the joke used the actual sponsor from the local station, but soon enough Fotno came up with “Earl’s Center City Muffler”, and we have blamed them for the weather ever since.
“Earl’s Center City Muffler, bringing you the weather since 1985.”
